On the Road to Nowhere with Robertson Davies

On Monday, I took advantage of a recently discovered teaching perk - the Discretionary Day. Which is basically an extra, random day off of my choosing. Luckily, it was beautiful, so I took a short walk out on the tundra.

...and what company! RD's books are never far from my side!

lol... I always took mine to finish up report cards. A hike on the tundra sounds and looks nice.

Colleagues sometimes joke I've been here too long since I've never used a discretionary. Still, I have to admit its a nice perk.

I probably should have used more of my discretionary day to finish my report cards, Jennith... because I, embarrassingly, still had some to finish on Friday (the day they were due).

I just found out about discretionary days a few weeks ago... if I'd known about them earlier, they likely would have been used to improve my mental health during some tough weeks in the middle of winter.

Are those tinted glasses, or sunglasses? Either way, you're totally rockin' 1991.

Nice pic of you hanging out with Robertson D. Just the companion for a little tundra sojourn

Speaking of Canadian icons and rockin' out in 1991, I believe Tom Cochrane put it best when he said:
"Life is a highway, I wanna ride it all night long." That's what those sunglasses are saying.
